Holika Holika Strawberry Pore Cover

Primers now a days they seem a must have before your Base or BB Cream. For me personally I use a primer almost always. If I forget I'm like Noooo and almost want to take whatever I have on off to "feel complete". In Asian culture I am assuming and from what I have read the dreaded "Strawberry nose" is not a cool thing. It's blackheads in your nose that make it look like a strawberry. As lovely as a strawberry is if your nose looks like it, I don't think it's a very good look.
So the lovely's at Holika Holika created Strawberry Pore Cover which is supposed to mask this problem.

Check it out! Very cute but little packaging.

The directions were seriously hard to focus on because they are so small. Or I am getting older Shhhh;) Here is the actual product.

You get 10 grams for around $10.99 US dollars I have seen it higher though. I purchased mine through Ebay but you have to know your sellers. I will write an Ebay buyers guide one of these days those of you interested in purchasing Korean Cosmetics and Skincare. I think it's important to know how to not get burned.

Here's what the product looks like.

You literally only need the smallest bit applied to your T-Zone. I only applied it where I get oily. It doesn't smell like strawberries either. One blogger thought it smelled like a perfume I wouldn't go that far but it smells really good! It smells good enough for me to check out some other products in this line though. I have always liked the smell of Asian cosmetics and skincare they smell very fresh and clean.

Does it cover pores? Um well I have very small pores because I am a peel freak yes, I like doing facials so I throw in a peel 1x a week to keep my pores utterly fresh and clean. It did blur them enough where if I didn't wear a base I would use this and some concealer or powder. I didn't get oily at all today.

My skin remained very matte no forehead shine like some of us dread. This is a great primer it won't blur a "strawberry nose" per se but it will keep your makeup on and you won't get oily. So give this a try I can't say anything negative about it and since I buy products myself I will tell you if it sux. So no worries I will always share the truth because well  I'm just a honest person.:x

What do you think of this product. Has it worked for you? Please share your experience and comments.

Till Nextime!

Peace,Love, and Makeup:)

Baviphat Sugar Girl Gel Eyeliner in Pearl Purple

Welcome to my 2nd Blog post on The Hot Hippie!!! Today I want to talk about a brand I am really liking. Baviphat Cosmetics the brand was establishes in 2009. They have become very popular in Korea and are now being sold all over Asia. I have used a lot of there skincare products and love them. So I figured why not try there cosmetics. I ordered this eyeliner from a US Ebay seller for 4.54$ with free shipping. It retails for around 3$ so with free shipping this was a win win for me if you add it all up.:)

Now lets take a look at this gel eyeliner.

It has 5 grams of product and Baviphat is known for their adorable packaging. It's geared towards teens but hey ladies can like it too;P  Obviously the Sugar Girl line is being marketed to teens but  the inner child in me loves this shimmery purple! They are known as the Benefit of Asian cosmetics and skincare. They use a very popular Korean boy band who are super pretty too;)

Now let's take a look at the colour itself.

It's cold here on the island so the product was very cold when it arrived. Hence the crack once it warmed up it was very easy with an angled MAC brush to apply a swatch to my hand. Here's a swatch of this gorgeous purple.

When I looked at it up close I noticed it had many colours that gave it a beautiful sparkle. It has blues, reds, and silver. It's not the type of sparkle that is OTT. It is subtle and it made my green eyes pop.:) In terms of wear it's amazing it did not budge or crease. Once you apply it, it stays on till   you take it off which is very impressive. I left the swatch on my hand till today to see how long this bad boy would last. Take a look for yourself it's pretty impressive!

For 24 hours I think it held up really well through my hand and face washing. A good remover of this is Lancomes Bi-Facil because this is on par with Urban Decay in terms of how long it lasts. Finally here it is on me so you can see how it looks on.

.

Application you would think this would be very gel like but it's actually quite hard. I had to use a very firm small angled brush. My MAC one was way too soft the one from ELF was the best. The product applies like a solid eyeliner but very easily believe it or not. I have had it on since this morning and it has not budged. Here's a pic of me rocking the Pearl Purple it looks very natural not too bold

I used my Naked3 palette for the rest of the look. It is a very good liner I recommend it, you just have to make sure you use the right brush.  It has to be a firm bristled brush or really warm it up. I am going to try leaving this in the sun to see how soft this can get and be used. I will report back on what I find. What say ye on this eyeliner? What shades do you own? I'd luv to know:)

Tip: To keep your gel liner from drying out leave it upside down. If you want to restore you gel liner add 2 drops of mixing medium or and oil like Apricot. Use an oil that is safe for the eye area but you know that;) Add 2 drops and keep it in a warm place for it to sink in. Worse case you can always use the Microwave for 10 seconds watch it. Stir and it should be revived. Here's a link for different ways of revival. http://bunbunmakeuptips.com/does-using-heat-to-revive-your-dried-up-gel-eyeliner-really-work/

Till then Peace,Love,and Makeup!

Holika Holika Midnight Owl Blush in Shy Owl

Hi all welcome to my 1st product review! My name is Danielle and I have found in my love of all Asian cosmetics and skincare that there were not a lot of reviews, or reviews in English. My love of these products started with the BB cream breakthrough which, here in the US still does not measure up to Korean BB standards. So hence this Blog The Hot Hippie has come to be. I'm under construction but this will look a lot better soon.

For now please enjoy my review on Holika Holika's Midnight Owl Blush in Shy.

Holika Holika is a Korean company based on fantasy. They use witches and spooky themes for their cosmetics and skincare. When I saw this blush on Ebay I had to have it. Every product I review is purchased with my own money. Just want you all to know that.:)

Now let's take a look at this Gorgeous Blush.

I will be using a better camera soon but for now look how cute this blush is. It has sparkles all over the top but they go away after a few swipes to reveal a beautiful shimmer not sparkley just a light shimmer. So no worries about glitter all you who dislike a lot of sparkles because it's not like that at all.

Here's the 1st swatch so you can see the sparkle.

You can see it's very shimmery but have no fear it comes off. Here's a shot with the colour and the shimmer before it was all off of the blush.

You can see there is a beautiful pink flush like colour under all those sparkles. Here is the final swatch of the shades and how it will really appear when you wear it.

As you can see it's a beautiful pink flush that looks amazing on the skin. It does have a slight sheen but for me it makes my pale NW20 and below skin look amazing and healthy. It comes out way too pink for highlighting but Holika Holika does have a Midnight Owl highlighter as well.

The verdict: Besides it being one of the cutest blushes I have ever owned it is a good one. It has Evening Primrose to keep the skin hydrated and the blush on me lasted all day so, wear is really good. My mom remarked at how nice it looked and she's super critical so I was happy to hear that;) lol
It is a well made blush that is super buttery to the touch. I will get some swatches of the colours up with my camera soon. I had to share this so forgive me as this is my very 1st blog post and things will get more groovy in time. So I hope you all will hang in because I'm so excited for the future!

You can get this on many websites such as Pretty and Cute, Ebay,Korean Depot, and I think SasaSasa. It retails for around 22.99$ US dollars. I have seen it go for as much as 35$ so do your research if you want to purchase this. In Korea it is around 22$ US dollars so if your in Korea you will get it for the price I paid so definitely shop around.

I mean c'mon how can you not like this:)

I will post pics of it on my pale self today so hang in if you want to see what it looks like on me. Thank you all so much for reading this blog! I'm excited to see where this goes and to share my love of these products with you all. More stuff coming up from Lioele and Baviphat:)

Here is the blush on me. It applies very easily and is very pigmented so you only need a few swipes. Very buildable colour:) What do you think? Do you love it? Hate it? Please share your thoughts.
