Here in NY the Winter hopefully is going away soon. Even if it doesn't I don't care I am ready for Spring colours. I have been having a love affair with purple my whole life. So why not try a purple blush because when done right and with the right shade. They can look really awesome and I think a must for any beauty junkies arsenal. So I saw Etude Houses Water Color Blushes and when I saw the Lilac I thought this shade just might work on my skin tone. More about undertones in a bit, but this blush is a cream liquid and smells like a clean powder. It's really nice! It has special silicones to help it adhere to the skin. Also it's made so that your skin shows through hence the name Water Color.
I had never tried a liquid blush nor a lilac one. With the warmer months approaching I took the plunge to happily find for myself that this is a very wearable blush. Plus the packaging is way to cute like a little paint. I love the concept and adore Korean cosmetic packaging. Let's look:)
I wish more cream blushers came like this it would save me a lot of space haha! I love the look though it comes with a seal so make sure when you remove the cap there's a seal. Here is mine minus the seal because I was playing with this little guy;)~
Now with wearing any colour blush you really need to know what your undertone is whether it be Pink,Yellow, or a mix of both. If you're a neutral you're lucky because most shades will look good on you. For me being a cool or pink undertone blushes with blues, for example will look well on a fair complexion. With a Yellow or Warm undertone you would want some red in your purple blush. Now let's look at the colour.
I had to layer it 3x's to get it this dark.
It's a very sheer build-able blush with a very silky smooth consistency. Also in order to wear these colours you want to make sure you have the right eyeshadow. A smokey grey eye for example will look awesome with these shades of blushes. The most important thing is to have fun it's only makeup anyway so experiment till you find a look you like. Here's the blusher on me I now know I can layer it more but I didn't want to go overboard so here it is.
You can see it is like a watercolor giving me just a hint of colour. I love it and will have another darker purple blush to show you soon:)
Verdict: Etude House did not disappoint on this one. This has an excellent texture, pigment, and is easy to apply. It was reasonable priced from 6-9$ depending on where you shop I personally recommend Ebay for the best price. It also smells really good and it lasts without getting oily. So it controls oil and does not fade which is a must in a blush like this. A little goes a long way and can be layered to reach desired shade. It's also an excellent colour for us pale ladies. I know for me being a NW15-20 max am happy Etude House has shades for the very fair another reason why I love Asian cosmetics soo much! So pick one up if you haven't you'll love it:)
